Great Week for SMGS Sport
There was no end to the SMGS sporting achievements this week with the Girls Basketball team beating off St Marys of Midelton to become Cork Under 19 Girls Champions. Following on from this, the Boys Under 16 Basketball team also did the school proud with a great win over Coláiste Choilm making them the South U16 A Champions.
Senior Girls Basketball Success
The U19s played their semi final match today away to Coláiste Muire, Crosshaven. The girls started strong and stayed ahead of their opponents throughout the whole game finishing off with a score of 42-39!
SMGS Science Week 2017

5th year LCVP hosted a trick or treat party/disco for Blarney senior primary school on 27th October.
Elaine Mc Gee honoured by Association of Geography Teachers of Ireland
Former student Elaine McGee was awarded the Gwenda Hurst Memorial Medal for the most meritorious Leaving Certificate Geography Exam in 2017 from the Association of Geography Teachers of Ireland in the Trinity City Hotel in Dublin on Friday night last.

Science week in SMGS
There were many activities organised for SMGS students for Science Week. 1st year students were asked to build a rocket from a 2L plastic bottle and yesterday they launched them by building up pressure inside in the rocket using a pump!
SMGS Rugby - The story so far...
SMGS Rugby has had a few outings this year with the U19s entered in the Mungret Cup League and the U16s entered in the Mungret Shield league.
