The U16 Girls Basketball team had their All Ireland play off on Tuesday. The girls first played St. Brigids Killarney.

SMGS travelled to Riverstick on Thursday last 5th Dec to compete in the Cork Post Primary Cross -Country Challenge races.

SMGS wish to congratulate Courtney O’ Regan from the Leaving Cert class of 2019 on receiving an All Ireland Scholarship from JP McManus. The scholarship was presented to Courtney on Saturday 23rd November by Irish Rugby Head Coach, Joe Schmidt.

Having dispatched Spioraid Niamh 3-1 in the opening round, SMGS Blarney Boys‘ U19 Soccer team faced Colaiste Choilm this week. 

Great news from the National Scifest Competition, 3rd year student Miriam Murphy has won the Specsavers Making a Difference Award Excellence in STEM Award, on getting to the National Final and the Specsavers Making A Difference grand award.

On Friday, the 15th of November, RTÉ's Youth Assembly on Climate Change convened in Dáil Éireann. 157 delegates, including SMGS student Orla Leahy met to finalise their recommendations for Ireland's approach to climate change. 

A very successful weekend last weekend for SMGS Athletics with First Year student Hannah Falvey winning GOLD at the Minor Girls All Ireland Combined Athletics Event in Athlone last Saturday.

From Class Awards to Academic Awards as well as the many Endeavour Awards, we congratulate our students on their fantastic achievements

Leaving Cert Agricultural Science students attended a ‘You Can Farm’ event on Liam Roche’s Farm, Mitchelstown.

Our 1st Yrs took part in a blitz in PBC grounds last Thursday, all style in their new kit displaying our ‘promoting positive mental health’ embroidered sleeves.

Blarney’s respective boys’ soccer teams got their campaigns underway in the Munster Competition over the last few weeks.

We are very proud of these 6 students who were presented with their Silver Gaisce Award last night in St Peter’s, Cork City.

Congratulations to the 5 first year SMGS students who represented the school in the Munster Combined Athletics Event in Nenagh today. Hannah Falvey won 1st in the overall girls competition and qualified for the All Irelands. 🥇

Massive congratulations to 3rd Year student Miriam Murphy who has been selected to represent SMGS in the National Finals of Scifest 2019 with her project which investigates Childhood Obesity. Best of luck Miriam!
