SMGS U19 Soccer Update

Having dispatched Spioraid Niamh 3-1 in the opening round, SMGS Blarney Boys‘ U19 Soccer team faced Colaiste Choilm this week.

A fast start put them 2-0 inside 15 minutes, with Kelvin O’Donoghue and Jack Leonard the scorers.

Blarney’s performance dropped for the remainder of the first half, and they were lucky to not concede before half time.

The start of the second half was much better, Jack scoring his second of the match to seemingly put the result to bed. However, our opponents still pushed on and pulled one back which could have changed the momentum of the game.

Within a few minutes though, supersub Cian Dunlea provided a neat finish into the top corner when put through.

A comfortable 4-1 win was the final result, but there will be tougher tests ahead and the performance and intensity will need to improve.
