U16 Football Update

​It was a cold Thursday in Ballincollig.

SMGS u16s football team played in the semi finals against Rochestown under 16s

Unfortunately Rochestown came out the better side. Beating Blarney 8-13 to 4-3.

The first half, Rochestown dominated scoring 1-2 within four or five minutes but Blarney fought back with Anthony Butler scoring a magnificent punched goal ending the first half Blarney 1-2 Rochestown 4-8.

SMGS started the second half strongly opening the score with a point but it wasn't long before Rochestown tuned in and overtook the Blarney side.

Rochestown proved the better team on the day but excellent for the SMGS Blarney boys to get this far. Well done to the team and their trainers Mr. Conway, Mr. D. Moylan and Mr. McCarthy.

Final score: Rochestown 8-13
