SMGS Rugby

Good and bad news for the SMGS Rugby squads yesterday where the JNR team had a great win away to High School Clonmel in the QF of the Munster Mungret Cup. Final score 28-24. They take on Bantry in the SF on the 21st February. The squad hit the ground running and took the game to clonmel from the off. Having been beaten in the league by the same team by 30+ pts, this turn around was testament to their workrate and attitude on the pitch.

The SNR team have competed very well all year and have been unlucky to loose some very close games. Yesterday was no different where they lost out to Villiers School in Limerick on a score line of 26-22 in the QF of the Munster Mungret U19 Shield. Fantastic to see so many of the SNR squad playing club rugby, which is evident on the pitch in terms of their workrate and skills.
